Restricted Holidays 2025 (Optional for Employees)
Employees can choose any 2 days from the restricted holiday list based on regional or personal preferences:
Employees must inform their department in advance about their chosen restricted holidays.
Key Points to Note
Substitute Holidays: No substitute holiday will be granted if a festival holiday falls on a weekly off or another non-working day.
Regional Variations: Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committees in different states can adjust the holiday dates based on local festivals and moon sightings.
Diwali Holiday: In some states, Diwali is celebrated a day in advance as “Naraka Chaturdasi.” Central Government offices in those states may observe the holiday accordingly.
Bank Holidays: Banks and financial institutions will follow the holiday list issued by the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.
