NMMS Scholarship – For Financial Assistance

The National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) is a government initiative aimed at supporting meritorious students from economically weaker sections by providing financial aid. The scholarship helps students in Class 8 continue their education and reduce dropout rates.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a Class 8 student in a government or government-aided school.
  • Parental income should not exceed ₹3,50,000 per annum.
  • Must have secured at least 55% marks in Class 7 (5% relaxation for SC/ST).
  • Students from Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and residential schools are NOT eligible.

Scholarship Benefits

  • ₹12,000 per year (₹1,000 per month).
  • Direct transfer to the student’s bank account via DBT.
  • Continued support from Class 9 to Class 12.

How to Apply

  • Step 1: Visit the National Scholarship Portal.
  • Step 2: Register as a new user and fill in the required details.
  • Step 3: Upload the necessary documents:
    • Income Certificate
    • Previous Year’s Mark Sheet
    • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
    • Bank Account Details
  • Step 4: Submit the application and save the confirmation.

Selection Process

The NMMS Scholarship exam consists of two tests:
