The National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) is a government initiative aimed at supporting meritorious students from economically weaker sections by providing financial aid. The scholarship helps students in Class 8 continue their education and reduce dropout rates.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Class 8 student in a government or government-aided school.
- Parental income should not exceed ₹3,50,000 per annum.
- Must have secured at least 55% marks in Class 7 (5% relaxation for SC/ST).
- Students from Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, and residential schools are NOT eligible.
Scholarship Benefits
- ₹12,000 per year (₹1,000 per month).
- Direct transfer to the student’s bank account via DBT.
- Continued support from Class 9 to Class 12.

Selection Process
The NMMS Scholarship exam consists of two tests:
